To get Muara Angke or Muara Baru is far for me. That's why I had to buy diesel fuel in Tangerang. We hope the government could build the SPDN here (Kamal Muara)
The restriction policy on subsidized diesel fuel is complained by 1,500 fishermen living in Kamal Muara Urban Village, North Jakarta. They admitted policy has made them difficult to get diesel fuel due to unavailable Diesel Filling Station for Fishermen (SPDN) in such region.
To meet diesel needs, fishermen had to cross into Tangerang region. The reason is the nearest SPDN located in Muara Angke and Muara Baru, Penjaringan reached by 30 minutes using fishing boats.
Diesel Fuel Sale Stopped, Gas Stations in C. Jakarta QuietSuwarno, (43), one of fishermen who live at RT 01/04, Kamal Muara, admitted that diesel fuel limitation by 20 percent has harmed his colleagues and him. "To get Muara Angke or Muara Baru is far for me. That's why I had to buy diesel fuel in Tangerang. We hope the government could build the SPDN here (Kamal Muara)," he hoped, Sunday (8/10).
Head of Kamal Muara Urban Village, Royto Harahap stated the number of fishermen in his residential is 1,512 fishermen and most of them live at RW 01 and 04, Kamal Muara. "Previously, Pertamina had done survey for SPDN construction, yet it is not yet realized until now," he asserted.
Head of North Jakarta Livestock, Fishery, and Marine Sub-Department, Sri Haryati acknowledged she got a report over SPDN construction from fishermen in Kamal Muara Urban. "Indeed, the distance from Kamal Muara to Muara Angke is too far. Moreover the existence of fishermen in Kamal Muara is a lot," she continued.
She explains an empty land as wide as 100 square meters is needed to build the SPDN. Temporarily, the land belongs to Ministry of Marine and Fishery around the Kamal Muara's Fish Auction Center (TPI) becomes main candidate because of it has gotten recommendation from Minister of Marine and Fishery, Sharif Cicip Sutardjo.
Even Sutardjo had given land use permission more than 100 square meters. But Haryati was not sure when SPDN in Kamal Muara could be implemented. There must be coordination with PT Pertamina and investor first.
"Earlier, the investor and Pertamina had checked the Kamal Muara's TPI area. Yet they said that the land was insufficient. But now we have had permission from ministry and I hope the project can run quickly," she told.
